"Ising On The Cake - The Chocolate Experience"

Most people ask me, what is “Ising On The Cake”?  I think people have visions of me sitting on a cake while singing (odd but never the less I do get asked) or they think I’m dyslectic because they don’t get the play on words. When I do explain what my show is about most people laugh, and that’s great!

Ising On The Cake
This is my one-woman show where I recall a readers digest story of how I have been in training for this very moment for all of my life… to sing and bake at the same time! Singing and baking at the same time is quite natural to me believe it or not.

Before I immigrated to New Zealand I was The Bakery Manager for a company called Kate’s Cakes. Over the last 5 years I have been developing my career as a professional singer and entertainer so the show is a marriage of my 2 passions.

Styled on the domestic goddess of the 1950’s (all things retro is my other passion), I take my audience on a journey through the Chocolate Fudge Cake making process, infusing my creation with Love and Music along the way.

You will hear some old musical favourites and a few originals. This show is a collision of red lippy, jewels, feather boas, music and kitchen equipment served with large helpings of Chocolate Fudge Cake, dollops of whipped cream and French chocolate sauce.

If you love music and chocolate you will love this experience, Indulgence on a grand scale. Who could resist?  Checkout my “Ising” page to hear what others have to say.

The story so far

I first came up with the concept purely to create another way of selling my CD “Love and Music”. After a chance meeting with a local festival organiser in May 2005 I gave a brief outline of what I had in my head, she then introduced me to a local Socialite who loved the idea and then gave me a booking to launch the concept to 25 lunching ladies. 3 months later, “voila”, I had a show and “Ising On The Cake” was a reality.

1 year on and the show has grown 10 fold and now requires 3 assistants and is regularly performed to audiences of 60 to 250, all over the New Zealand. Excuse the pun, but we are “Cooking up a storm”.
This show comes straight from my heart, and with new cakes and new stories in my head this is only the beginning.
Ciao and see you soon.

“ The perfect blend of music, theatre, comedy and practical content – great cake too!”

“Ising On the Cake” runs for 60mins and is followed by cake, and a further 40 minutes of “Cabaret style” entertainment.
